Lyman Community Library is the Place to Be this Summer

Article by: Helen Philbrick

The Lyman Community Library is gearing up for a great summer reading program designed to draw in readers of all ages. The program added three new badges this year: fairy tale, ocean, and Maine. Anyone can still try for the previous year’s badges as well. This summer reading program runs July through August.
Along with the summer reading program are weekly activities at the library. Some of the planned events include Ocean Olympics, a Star Party (at Starfield Observatory), and Origami Fish.
These events join the long list of regularly scheduled programs the library offers. Every Tuesday and Wednesday night, the library has movies. Saturday mornings, they have cartoons. There is a book club that meets once a month. Fiber Arts is Wednesday nights at 6. The craft table and the Lego table are always set up and ready to excite your imagination.
The library’s hours are noon-8 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9-5 on Thursdays and Fridays, and 10-1 on Saturdays. For more information, go to
