MHS Technology Survey

A lot of students have had an iPad or Chromebook since even elementary school. Getting to middle school students went from iPads to computers back to iPads, and so on. The big question is, which would be better? The school has changed their minds on this topic a lot, changing from iPad to Chromebook every couple of years. But what does the student body think? Which is better for their school work? Which is less likely to malfunction or cause problems? iPads chargers break and get lost, the screens crack, and they're hard to keep safe. Mac are heavy and difficult to carry around, they're bigger than an iPad and the charger problem won't go away. The real question is which is better to help enhance your education?

A survey sent to the students, teachers, and parents over this issue has been conducted. According to the information:

About 75% of people have had problems with their IPads at least once a month, if not weekly. This is a serious issue. Students have a lot of work to to do during the school day. Henceforth, having all of these problems occurring takes away from their work time, and work productively.

Not to mention the fact that almost 80% thought that Chromebooks would be a much better option, as they would have less problems, and allow students to get their work done more productively and effectively.
Judging by this information, students, teachers, and parents mostly agree that Chromebooks are the much better option for the future students here at MHS.

  1. iPads seem like a great tool for a quick way to look up material, etc., but for academic work, your survey seems to indicate that most people think the chromebook or some lap top would be better for academic work. It will be interesting to see what happens!
