The Greatest News of 2016

2016 has been a year full of some horrible events, terrorist attacks, mass shootings, and many other horrid acts. But, with the end of the year just passing you should know that not all of 2016 was horrible. Here are some good things that happened:

  • Tiger Population is growing
For the first time in a century, the number of tigers in the world has increased from 3,200 in 2010 to 3,890 now.

  •   Juno Spacecraft has reached Jupiter

After a long five year journey, the Juno spacecraft has reached the planet of Jupiter to do an in-depth study of the planet.

  • The gene linked to the cause ALS has been found
The ice bucket challenge donation money helped contribute to the ALS Association finding the gene that plays a big part in causing the disease, and the closer they get to the source, the sooner they have a cure.

  • Harriet Tubman is officially going to be on the twenty dollar bill
There is no more discussion, a woman is finally going to be on the twenty dollar bill.

  • Scientists figured out how to link robotic limbs to part of the brain
Soon, people that have prosthetic limbs will have robotic limbs that can be moved with the brain just like normal limbs.

  • Leonardo DiCaprio Won An Oscar
After many years and many great movies, Leonardo DiCaprio won an Oscar for Best Actor in the movie The Revenant.
    This year has been a bumpy ride and many people are happy for it to end. But, this also held many great achievements for our world. Let us all hope that in 2017 we have bigger achievements.
